Summer Takeover: Make an Air Cannon

Celebrate Summer Reading 2025 at the Plainfield Public Library!

Due to the library's temporary closure, this program will take place outside in Library Park! We'll be in the middle of the College Avenue side, right between W. 8th and W. 9th Sts. In case of rain, find us under the library's overhang on the College Avenue side.

First we'll make some cardboard spring cannons from kits, then we'll put together some "air cannons" with household items to take home. The Air Cannons shoot puffs of air that can launch pom-pom balls or ping-pong balls. We'll try them out in Library Park!

¡Celebren la Lectura de Verano 2025 en la Biblioteca Pública de Plainfield!

Debido al cierre temporal de la biblioteca, este programa se llevará a cabo al aire libre en el Parque de la Biblioteca. Si llueve, nos encontrarán bajo el alero de la biblioteca, en el lado de College Avenue.

Primero haremos cañones de resorte de cartón con kits, luego armaremos cañones de aire con artículos domésticos para llevar a casa. Los cañones de aire disparan ráfagas de aire que pueden lanzar bolas de pompones o pelotas de ping-pong. ¡Los probaremos en el Parque de la Biblioteca!
