Looking for people to discuss books with? You've found them.
Our December read is Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro* (the 2017 Nobel Prize winner in literature). Klara is a solar-powered "Artificial Friend"- a robot with an AI consciousness. Klara's job is to socialize with Josie, a possibly-dying teenager homeschooled but brilliant. For more about the novel, check out the reviews in The Guardian and America magazine.
(While there will be spoilers, it's ok to attend even if you didn't finish the book!)
Please note: due to library construction, this meeting will be held at PPAC 724 Park Avenue, Plainfie
