Green up for Spring! Learn to grow fresh, tasty sprouts and microgreens right in your kitchen from common seeds and beans!
What are sprouts and microgreens? They are the firm but tender first growth from vegetable, grain and bean seeds. Microgreens are similar, but are allowed to grow a bit longer before being cut off the seeds and eaten -- they are a trendy addition to all sorts of dishes, from salads to soups to sandwiches. Either way, they allow you to easily and cheaply get one of your Five-a-Day vegetable servings without even leaving your kitchen.
We'll cover two methods: the classic 3-5 day sprouting jar and a 'microgreen' self-watering planter made from a recycled container.
All supplies will be provided; you'll go home with equipment and seeds for two batches.
