Meet photographer Brian Branch-Price and see his photography from America's Black Cowboys & Cowgirls.

The Library's summer photography exhibit, America's Black Cowboys & Cowgirls, presents the incredible work of Plainfield photographer, Brian Branch Price. This stunning portraiture collection features the Crazy Faith Riders of New Jersey, the Federation of Black Cowboys (NY), and Black rodeos across the United States.

The Crazy Faith Riders is the first and only African American, faith-based trail riding club in New Jersey. Their goal is to share our common interest of horses among a community of people. The Federation of Black Cowboys was created in 1994 by a group of diverse people looking to share and promote knowledge of the “Black West”. They also aim to inspire the kids with the stories of African American historical heroes such as: Bill Pickett, Nat Love, Bass Reeves, and Stagecoach Mary.

The exhibit will run thru September 23, 2023. The exhibit is free and open to all during regular library hours, when the room is not in use.

This exhibition is supported, in part, by a grant from the Plainfield Cultural Heritage Commission.
