Preservation Week Kick Off - Photo scanning for Plainfield's Annual July 4th Parade 100th Anniversary Exhibition.

2024 is the 100th anniversary of Plainfield’s Annual 4th of July Parade! Help us preserve its history by donating or loaning your photographs of past parades for digitization by Plainfield Public Library. Selected images will be included in a photography retrospective exhibition this summer, sponsored by the Plainfield Division of Parks & Recreation.
You are welcome to bring your photographs to the Local History Dept.(during regular dept hours) any day before this program. Please call ahead to let us know you are stopping by. This April 20th program is the final day to donate or loan your photographs for this historical photograph exhibition. While we welcome donations of your photographs, we are happy to digitize your photos and then return the photos to you.
We will ask you to provide some basic details about the images, such as place and date and the names of any individuals in the image. We will be able to digitize many photographs at the April 20th program (depending on the quantity of images provided to us that day), and return them to you that same day. Participants will be asked to sign a loan or gift agreement.

¡2024 es el centenario del desfile anual del 4 de julio de Plainfield! Ayude a preservar su historia donando o prestando sus fotografías de desfiles anteriores para que la Biblioteca Pública de Plainfield las digitalice. Las imágenes seleccionadas se incluirán en una exposición retrospectiva de fotografía este verano, patrocinada por la División de Parques y Recreación.
