Celebrating Our Black Shining Malcolm X @100
As a teenager, educator and author, Bill Davis was highly affected by Malcolm X and was also a witness to the rebellion, aka riot, in Plainfield. As the world celebrates Malcolm X @100, having a celebration in Plainfield was essential. Given the current challenges in the world especially as Black history is being erased, as well as a rise in racism, celebrating Malcolm X is necessary.
Please join us for a celebration that will include cultural presentations by vocalist Tamara Horn and poet Lyle Omolayo, A highlight will be video clips of Malcolm X speeches. Speakers will be Larry Hamm, Chairman POP, and Bill Davis as moderator.
There will be time for community conversation to discuss current challenges.
