Looking for people to discuss books with? You've found them.

Stop by the Reference desk to request/pick a copy of the February read, Nickle and Dimed: On (Not) Getting by in America by Barbara Ehrenreich. Then join us on February 26 to discuss it. (While there will be spoilers, it's ok to attend even if you didn't finish the book!)

In this classic nonfiction account, undercover journalist Ehrenreich set out to live, and report on, the struggles to survive of the working poor in America. She took a series of minimum wage jobs and tried to make it on those wages, reporting on how she and her fellow-workers tried to make ends meet. For more about this still-controversial book and the author's philosophical background, see this review: https://www.themistressofbooks.com/reviews/review-nickel-and-dimed-by-barbara-ehrenreich .

The March book will be Daughter of Fortune by Isabel Allende.
